That's a very unusual name Anne. At first I thought it sounded and looked French. It's sad to think of his parents surviving the deaths of so many children. I know it wasn't unusual at the time, but it always makes me sad to think of it.

Originally it seems to have been a first name but I am not sure how it went to being a surname or the origins of the Odiarne family.
