What a wonderful and fun find! I am curious, tho, as to what the connection between your ancestors and fashion was that they appeared so often in this book?
My ancestors only appeared twice in the book - the 1912 picture of the four children and the picture about 1890 of my great grandfather. I can only assume that my grandfather's cousin knew the author and offered the photos as examples for fashion. The book gives examples of fashions through the ages. Given the caption of my great grandfather's portrait gave the wrong date I wondered if he was correctly identified. Given the other photos I have of him, I think it is the right person and just the wrong date - perhaps a typo giving his birth date instead of the date of the photo.
