This year, 2025, Australia celebrates two military-political events. It is one hundred and ten years since the Gallipoli landings in Turkey, when Australian and New Zealand troops were first thrown into battle as colonial soldiers of the British empire, and it is eighty years since the end of WW2.

Many of my relatives served in the Australian Forces in the two world wars. I believe that everyone on the family tree deserves to be remembered, not just those who served in wars. The records of military service, however, help greatly in researching their stories.
